Summary of NCP Survey
NCP undertook a survey within the 12 district councils to gain opinions & feedback from people who have had interaction with a member of the parking personnel team & those people how have not but reside in an area where parking provision is provided.
The objective was to gain an understanding of public perceptions of the parking service provided by Lancashire County Council in conjunction with NCP.
610 people were surveyed. Included were 65 interviews with blue badge holders, 64 with local shopkeepers & 38 with resident parking schemes.
Of the 610 people surveyed, 83% of people understood why they had been issued with a Penalty Charge Notice
45% contacted the parking office to discuss challenging a PCN & the majority opinion was that they were able to get through easily enough & within an acceptable time period.
63% of people who wrote in to the parking office indicated that the reply they received was prompt/very prompt & 79% felt they received sufficient information/explanation to their query.
59% of people surveyed who are blue badge holders felt the scheme in their local area works well.
42% of people surveyed who lived in a resident parking zone were happy with this & 48% felt the scheme works well in their area.
Of the shopkeepers/business surveyed, 52% felt it was easy for their customers to park when visiting their business & 65% felt it was easy for their employees to park. 49% said it was very easy for suppliers to access their business when making deliveries, with 22% saying it was easy.
