How to Park

Everyday thousands of motor vehicles driving through Lancashire. At some point they will all park somewhere. The majority park in designated parking spaces but many park illegally on the street. Parking on double yellow lines, in a bus lane, across cycle lanes or in residents' parking bays, even for only a few minutes, causes inconvenience to other road users and can be dangerous.

Not only is it illegal to park in a way that interferes with or obstructs the flow of traffic or endangers pedestrians and other road users but it also adds extra pressure and congestion to our roads. It only takes one illegally and inconsiderately parked vehicle to bring traffic to a grinding halt. It all motorist's were to use proper car parks and loading bays and adhere to the highway code when parking the roads in the towns and cities of Lancashire would be less congested and a lot safer.
